CAR PARK SPACE COUNTING
Nortech Car Park Counting components may be utilised to implement a stand-alone car park monitoring system to monitor and display the car park occupancy.
Vehicle detectors at entrances and on ramps are used for vehicle counting. An electronic capacity counter is pre-set to the number of vacant spaces and receives count information from the counting loops. The system will control a static FULL sign or will optionally provide a count of available car park spaces and indicates" FULL" at zero count.
Nortech supply counters for incorporation into 3rd party systems but also offer outdoor rated FULL signs and four digit VMS signs for capacity counts.
CT220 Car Park Space Counter — FULL sign control
The CT220 is a car park capacity counter designed for vehicle counting and control of simple "FULL / SPACE" displays. The CT200 counter can be nested in ramp or floor control as well as overall car-park capacity. Internal memory prevents loss of count data with power failure.
The CT220 is a plug-in module in a similar housing to the miniature vehicle detectors and has a relay output for control of an external device. Count capacity is 9999

CT220P Car Park Space Counter — Serial data
The CT220P is a car park capacity counter that indicates the number of remaining car park spaces. The CT200P counter can be nested in ramp or floor control as well as overall car-park capacity. Internal memory prevents loss of count data with power failure.
In addition to a low current "FULL" relay, the counter has a serial port that may be connected to a PC to interrogate the count and override the control outputs. Count capacity is 9999

MS 4/4 FULL sign
This static FULL sign is switched on by an external switch or contact closure from a CT220 counter. The display has hi-bright LED's suitable for outdoor use and a 4digit display with 200mm characters. The sign has a weatherproof enclosure for wall or ceiling mount. The sign requires 240V ac for operation.

CT220P Car Park Space Counter — VMS sign control
The CT220P is a car park capacity counter designed for vehicle counting and control of a VMS display that indicates the number of remaining car park spaces. The CT200P counter can be nested in ramp or floor control as well as overall car-park capacity.
The CT220 is a panel mount module and has a relay output for control of an external device as well as a serial port for outputting the car space count to the MS4/4 VMS sign.

MS 4/4 VMS sign
This dynamic VMS displays a 4 digit number representing the number of spaces in the car park. This sign operates only with the CT220P car park capacity counter. A serial data cable of no more than 500 metres connects the sign and counter. The display has hi-bright LED's suitable for outdoor use and a 4digit display with 200mm characters. The sign has a weatherproof enclosure for wall or ceiling mount. The sign requires 240V ac for operation.

NCT200 Counter Module
The Nortech NCT200 is an extremely flexible four-channel counter module that can be used as a standalone unit providing up to 4 individual counters or as a single counter with up to 4 increment inputs and 4 decrement inputs. The NCT200 can also be used as part of a networked count management system by linking it to the server PC of the count management system (NorParc).
When in standalone mode, one or more Variable Message Signs can be associated with each of the counters to provide information of space availability to staff and visitors. Up to two alarm outputs can be associated with each counter to indicate that the count has reached a predetermined value. The outputs can be used to operate Space/Full signs, traffic lights or other external indicators as necessary. When used with a count management system, the NCT200 can be networked to the server via either RS485 or TCP/IP. The outputs from the NCT200 can be controlled directly from the software to support centralised control of signs, alarms, door/barrier control arming, etc

VMS Sign for NCT200
This Variable Message Signs (VMS) is designed to be used in conjunction with Nortech’s NCT200 counter modules to monitor and display count values such as the number of available spaces in a car park. The VMS can be used to display this information to visitors at suitable locations around a car park or venue. Its large 4-digit, LED display panel housed in an outdoor enclosure provides clear visibility so that it can be read at distances of up to 20m depending upon lighting conditions.
Up to eight VMS’s can be connected on a single RS485 bus from tan NCT200 module, each displaying a different count value. The count value that a VMS displays is selected by setting an associated node number on its DIP switches. If necessary, more than one VMS unit can be set to display the same count value. The LED intensity can be set to one of four levels via the NCT200 module to accommodate different ambient lighting conditions.

NorParc Car Park Counting System
NorParc is a Windows based level counting and parking guidance system for the NCT200 Counting Module that provides centralised count management, monitoring and guidance control for parking facilities that have multiple entry and exit points and/or several individual levels or nested parking areas. It can bring benefits to small car parks as well as large, multi-level car parks.
NorParc has a graphical user interface where important occupancy information and alarm indications can be displayed on a plan view of the facility.
All entry lanes, exit lanes and access points between levels and areas are monitored by physical counters within that store the count values locally and makes them available to the NorParc software via a network connection.
